Congratulations

Nominated books arriving at selected Chapters
RAIA members in SA, WA and QLD took up the opportunity to nominate books for the Fielders Reference library in their local area and go into the draw to win a complimentary pass to this year’s RAIA National Architecture Conference. Congratulations to Emma Wood from SA and Michael Sorensen from WA who have each won a complimentary pass, thanks to Fielders.

The nominated publications will begin delivery from March and continue throughout the year. The Fielders Reference Libraries house the latest range of architectural, building and design books from leading authors across the world, and will now be stocking the top-picks from our members. Feel free to pop into the SA, WA and QLD Chapters where you can relax and enjoy these wonderful libraries created especially for RAIA members.

Fielders is the major corporate partner of the RAIA.

Steel Lizard winner announced
Late last year we received an outstanding number of submissions to the Fielders ‘Special Sculpture for a Special Project Promotion’ suggesting a suitable recipient for the donation of Dan Murphy’s Steel Lizard Sculpture. After much discussion and debate, Fielders Steel Roofing is proud to announce that Western Cape College (Weipa) is the winning recipient, nominated by pdt architects in Queensland.

The college is located in Far North Queensland with a rich diversity of culture; half the students are from an indigenous background. It achieves outstanding educational outcomes across a wide variety of school experiences for the twin communities of Weipa and Naprum. The college has also been instrumental in promoting indigenous art with strong involvement with the Western Cape Artists project since 2004.

The RAIA and its major corporate partner Fielders Steel Roofing thank all who participated in this very special promotion which demonstrated such commitment and passion for local communities by RAIA members.

Congratulations Western Cape College, we look forward to updates when the lizard arrives.
