These 2 sessions use a multi storey building in Canberra comprising commercial and residential facilities in an inner city location, the demonstrations will give examples of various processes and analysis. Part 1: The Design Phase Saturday 21 April, 11.00am - 1.00pm Melbourne Exhibition Centre The first session focuses on the design phase i.e. defining requirements, creating a model, working with key engineering consultants - structure, heating ventilation and air conditioning, electrical, submitting the model for authority checking (development approval and building approval), costing, sustainability. Part 2: The Construction & Facility Management Phases Saturday 21 April, 2.30pm - 4.00pm Melbourne Exhibition Centre This second part focuses on the construction and asset management/facility management phases. Two key themes are presented: • how the construction and FM phases can exploit the design model • the opportunity for automation of various construction processes e.g. structural steel fabrication, product procurement ![]()
