Metropolis/NSW Department of Planning
One hundred city leaders from around the world will be in Sydney in October, 2008 to attend the 9th World Congress of Metropolis.
Metropolis is an international association representing cities with over one million people. The Congress will be held between 22-25 October, 2008 and will focus on the Asian region, and particularly on the emerging economies of China and India.
A range of global issues will be discussed including the impact of climate change on cities, new technologies, the funding of infrastructure and city governance. A large part of the Congress will be the opportunity for networking not only between cities but also between city leaders and industry representatives.
