Using next generation content management systems to improve practice efficiency – leaving more time for great designs.
Document Control and Content Management systems continue to evolve rapidly blending document management, with intranet functionality and now social collaboration tools. At the same time as these tools become more powerful they are also becoming more accessible and affordable thanks to cloud computing, virtualized machines, improved connectivity and other forces.
The seminar will provide:
- A high level understanding of content management and document management solutions
- An outline of what functions are typically available in DMS and CMS
- An understanding how the new generation systems differ from more traditional folder and file share methodologies
- A review of the benefits and typical ROI, particularly as it applies to Architects practices
- An understanding of key factors to consider when selecting systems and suppliers
Use of document control systems offer a practice significant efficiency gains leading to associated cost savings and more robust processes. It is particularly pertinent where the organisation is involved in projects demanding a high degree of collaboration be it across differing geographic locations, multiple project partners or virtual teams.
By gaining an understanding of next generation systems, architects will better understand how they compare with more tradition file storage methods and whether or not they have a role to play in their own practice.
The course is offered both through the Australian Institute of Architects refuel program and for small groups onsite at your practice.
