VCA - Hub Building
by Minifie Nixon Pty Ltd

IN THE ARCHITECTS WORDS

The Centre for Ideas at the Victorian College of the Arts is a significant new project giving new energy and direction to the St Kilda road campus. Housing the shared facilities of library, union, teaching, academic, computing and cafeteria spaces it forms the communal and symbolic nucleus of the college. The Centre for Ideas is a new school within the college

established to provide a social and theoretical context for students in the VCA's other five schools of the arts. The building responds to the ambition of this new program, providing a vivid new element to galvanise the campus. The building's shaped and coloured stainless steel façade, and three story circulation space provide clear expression for the Centre for Ideas.
