Blue Mountains River Run
by Mason Architects

IN THE ARCHITECTS WORDS

Blue Mountains River Run is an ecotourist development in the Megalong Valley. The site of 190 hectares is formed by a steep-sided ridge running north-south with the Cox's River skirting the west, south and east of the site. On completion, the project will have ten cabins and a restaurant and

environmental conference venue. The first cabin was completed in September 1999. The objective is to have an eco-tourist destination demonstrating best practice. To this end the architecture is designed to fit into the landform, and be energy efficient and to be environmentally sustainable.
