James Service Place
by Kerstin Thompson Architects Pty Ltd

IN THE ARCHITECTS WORDS

Incorporating existing stables to the rear of an historic building in Melbourne, this design for a new residence uses contemporary forms and materials (in-situ concrete, steel and glass) to construct a

dynamic relationship between past and future uses of the site. The interstitial space between the two buildings is highly articulated by an atrium which bridges between the buildings and a walled garden.
